SUNSET MIRAGE 16.2HH 3/4TB 1980 Chestnut
Foundation Brood Mare
Sunset Mirage is our senior brood mare, who we bought back in 1997 specifically for breeding. She is graded Main Stud Book with SHB(GB), with very impressive marks. In her competition days, she was an intermediate eventer, hunted extensively and was on the Rags to Riches Team Chase team that was third at the National Championships in 1995 as seen in Horse and Hound Magazine March 30th 1995. Her first foal (before we bought her) was by Embla Farmer, and they won broodmare and foal classes and championships in a very successful county showing career. The youngster went on to win in later years in youngstock classes. We have bred some lovely stock from her, including colts by Criminal Law and Lord David S who are all sold and doing really well. We did retain her daughter by Canworthy Monsun, Monsuns Illusion, to preserve the line. Mirage is now retired, and being a nanny to our youngsters, including her grandson.
